Emily Dickinson Homestead

6" x 6" Acrylic on stretched canvas

sold

I painted this en plein air on a beautiful summer day. This view of the Homestead includes the (now old) oak tree that Emily once looked upon and even wrote about in her poems. This oak tree is very special in that it is one of the few trees contemporary to Emily that survived the hurricane of 1938. The Emily Dickinson Museum is a very special place that deserves a visit.

  1. Although I am not a Fine Arts major, I do appreciate the works of Lana that I have personally viewed, as well as those I have seen here on her site.

Her realism and use of vivid colour breathes life into each and every piece.

This work, of the Dickinson Homestead, with her choice of a portion of this lovely home, illustrates her interpretation of shading and shadows, playing in the light. As such, I am commissioning Lana to do an architectural rendering for me.

I excitedly await her results of my commissioned piece, of her rendering of another beautiful local historic home.

Please, support this up and coming artist with a bright future ahread of her!

    Thank-you Lana.

    Therese Church.
