Summer Bouquet

6"x6" Acrylic on stretched canvas

sold

A friend of mine picked this beautiful summer bouquet from her amazing garden: pink peonies, irises and more! My goal with this little painting was to stay loose and resist the impulse to overwork the detail of these lovely blooms; doing so would have made this still life static. I'm happy with the summer vitality I was able to capture.
