I painted this for a good friend's birthday. She is a beautiful, sexy girl (as all my friends) and I wanted to paint something that would capture her "esprit de corps."
I love the repeated curves and circles in this little composition as well as the analogous color scheme set off by small touches of complementary colors.
I love capturing all the different colors reflected in the silverware. I'm really happy with the viewpoint angle. This will be beautiful in a silver frame!
I painted this en plein air on a beautiful summer day. This view of the Homestead includes the (now old) oak tree that Emily once looked upon and even wrote about in her poems. This oak tree is very special in that it is one of the few trees contemporary to Emily that survived the hurricane of 1938. The Emily Dickinson Museum is a very special place that deserves a visit.
