Geranium Series I-VI
Six 6" x 6" Oil on stretched canvas
This was a fun series to paint. It's always such a great exercise to do multiple paintings or drawings of the same subject because you really have to be more creative about how to arrange and frame the same objects.

The Way Up
This is an interior I did last spring. I'm looking forward to painting more interiors now that winter is upon us!

Bridge of Flowers
This is another painting I did during Louise's autumn workshop. I am so happy with this! This is the bridge of flowers in Shelburne Falls. The colors and brushstrokes are much more lively "in person" than is captured in the photograph. Double click on the picture to get a better view.

French King Bridge
This is another piece I painted during Louise's autumn workshop. I'm very happy with this piece. I really did have a great time painting this despite the fact that it was chilly and windy. I enjoy doing landscapes that would typically be horizontally-oriented in the vertical format. It adds a little surprise to the scene.

April in Paris
I painted this from a picture we took in Paris. We were in the city of lights in April when we got engaged. I have the picture framed in our living room and kept thinking that it would make a lovely painting.

The Book Mill
sold
This is a fun little piece. I was curious to see how much of the Book Mill I could fit in on a little canvas.

Colander of Apples
This is a fun little piece that I painted at a friend's house. She had the sweetest little handmade ceramic colander that we filled with apples for this still life.

Red Chair
This is a painting I did about a year ago and I am very happy with the "Hopper-esque" feel of it. This actually started out as a still life of a tray table of apples. I got so involved with the space the little tray table and apples didn't even make it into the painting. I'm looking forward to painting more interiors this winter and I'm curious to see if I'm able to stay as expressive I was with "View from Sugarloaf."

View from Sugarloaf
I painted this during Louise Minks' Fall Workshop in October. I didn't want to paint the typical view from Mt. Sugarloaf, so I painted this view looking out on South Deerfield. This painting stayed fresh, bold and spontaneous thanks to Louise stopping me from overworking it. She's a great teacher!!!!
